Some doorways appear only when we look again.
North of East — Near Gate began with an original photograph of an old oak reaching across a clear blue sky. Through reflection, its branches become an archway and its trunks stand like quiet guardians. Nothing new was added. We simply looked closer.
The artwork wraps from handle to handle around an 11 oz white ceramic mug, finished with two gallery-gold flame marks resting like lanterns at the gate.
Designed at Little Iris Hollow, where every place has more than one face.
